We were in the midst of judging the photographs for the Finland International Digital Circuit when I noticed a beautiful fog settling outside. I quickly called my son to see if he could drive our car, and I decided to take photos from the front seat. Despite using ISO all the way up to 12800, the noise in the images turned out to be quite acceptable, adding to the moody atmosphere. I liked how the wet windscreen contributed additional reflections to the images.
For the edited images, I chose four city scenes and four more minimalistic ones. I applied liberal color grading to all the images to capture the desired mood. Although one image with a pedestrian was a bit shaken, I decided to include it in the series. I believe these types of images don’t necessarily have to be technically perfect.
Fog is, without a doubt, my favorite weather for capturing outdoor photos.
